2. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using this website you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use this website.

3. No Legal Advice

The content of this website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal or professional advice, nor an offer to provide legal services. The information presented may not reflect the most current legal developments, may not apply to your particular circumstances, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for independent, qualified legal advice.

You should always seek the advice of a qualified legal professional in relation to any specific legal matter before taking, or refraining from, any action.

4. No Attorney–Client Relationship

Use of this website — including browsing its content, or sending us an enquiry by email using an address published on it — does not create an attorney–client (advocate–client) relationship between you and the Firm.

An attorney–client relationship is established only upon execution of a formal written engagement agreement signed by both parties. Until such an agreement is in place, you should not send us any confidential, privileged or time-sensitive information through this website, by email, or otherwise, as no duty of confidentiality arises and we cannot guarantee its protection. Unsolicited information sent to us before an engagement is established will not be treated as confidential and will not preclude the Firm from acting for another party.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, layout and design elements — is the property of C. Topouzis & Associates or its licensors and is protected by Cyprus and international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. The Firm’s name, logo and branding are protected, and no right or licence to use them is granted by your use of this website.

You may:

  • view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use; and
  • share reasonable extracts with colleagues or clients, provided you acknowledge the source and include a reference to this disclaimer.

All other use, reproduction, modification, republication or distribution of the content requires our prior written consent.

6. Accuracy and No Warranties

While we take reasonable care to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability or currency of any content.

The content may be amended, updated or removed at any time without prior notice, and may not reflect the current state of the law. The website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, the Firm, its partners, associates, employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage (whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise) arising from or in connection with:

  • your use of, or reliance on, any content or information on this website;
  • any action taken or not taken on the basis of such content;
  • any inability to access the website or any interruption of service; or
  • any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

This clause concerns liability arising from use of the website only. The Firm’s responsibility in respect of legal services actually provided to a client is governed exclusively by the terms of the relevant written engagement agreement.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use of the website by, any third party. You must not misuse the website by knowingly introducing viruses or other malicious material, attempting to gain unauthorised access to the website or its underlying systems, or scraping, harvesting or systematically extracting its content without our consent.

9. Privacy and Cookies

Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store and protect personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Cyprus Law providing for the Protection of Natural Persons with regard to the Processing of Personal Data, Law 125(I)/2018.

This website uses only the essential cookies required for its basic operation. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party content — such as the Google Maps embed on our contact page — is loaded only with your consent, which you may give or withdraw at any time through our cookie banner or by clearing your browser’s local storage for this website. Further detail is set out in our Privacy Policy.

You have rights in relation to your personal data, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus. Details of how to exercise these rights are set out in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of this website, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Cyprus.

12. General

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held by a competent court to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

The current version will always be available on this page, with the “last updated” date amended accordingly. Your continued use of this website following any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
